Established in 1980, the Oregon Maritime Museum’s mission is to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain facilities dedicated to the collection, preservation, and public display of maritime objects.
• Collect and preserve maritime records for scholarly public use.
• Provide public meeting opportunities for maritime interpretation and education.
• Serve as a memorial to merchant mariners and to encourage interest in the past, present and future maritime heritage of Oregon and the Columbia River Basin.

Board Members

The board of trustees is comprised of all volunteers, and elected at the museum’s annual meeting each February. Changes that occur during a board member’s term require a vote by the board.

Board meetings are held the second Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. on the steamer Portland. Museum members are welcome to attend.
